Paris, a Champagne cellar in Reims, the half-timbered towns of Alsace and the grand cru villages around Beaune, all by train.
Day 1 is your arrival day, so keep it gentle. Then mix the big sights (book them ahead) with neighborhood wandering, a market morning, a Seine walk at dusk and long café stops.
Arrive at CDG or Orly. Take the RER B, a flat-fare taxi or a pre-booked transfer into town; see our Paris transport guide.
Reims Cathedral and a cellar tour in Reims, then the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay. Book cellar visits ahead.

Strasbourg's cathedral and Petite France, Colmar's canals and the wine-route villages of Riquewihr and Eguisheim.

Christmas markets run from late November through December; book rooms early.
The Hospices de Beaune, grand cru villages along the Route des Grands Crus, and Dijon's old center.
